For a Cleaner Future

Reducing Waste – Less Trash, More Sustainability

Every day, each person in Germany produces more than half a kilo of waste — much of it avoidable. When waste is discarded, harmful substances, chemicals, and microplastics can enter our soil and waterways, causing long-term damage to the environment.
By consuming more consciously, choosing smart alternatives, and making small changes in everyday life, you can significantly reduce waste, protect water, soil, and the climate — and take a clear stand against the throwaway culture.

Tips for Reducing Waste

Choose Reusable Over Disposable

-Use reusable alternatives such as glass bottles, cloth bags, lunch boxes, and reusable coffee cups.
-Many cafés now offer discounts when you bring your own cup or container.

Shop Package-Free

-Buy from zero-waste stores or local markets — for example loose nuts, fruit, pasta, or soaps.
-Bringing your own bags and jars is easy and worthwhile.

Reuse & Upcycle

-Many items don’t need to be thrown away: mend clothing, reuse jars for storage, and turn old items into something new.
-Find inspiration on DIY platforms or in zero-waste communities.

Sort Waste Correctly

-Separate your waste into paper, glass, organic waste, residual waste, and packaging (plastic, metal, composites).
-Proper sorting enables recycling and saves valuable energy and resources.
